Meeting the Local MPs
We recently met with with both our local MPs, John Stevenson and Rory Stewart, to highlight to them the local impact of welfare reform. See below for more details.
CAB meets Rory Stewart
Representatives of Carlisle and Eden District CAB and Cumbria Law Centre met recently with Rory Stewart MP for Penrith and the Borders to raise issues related to the local implementation of welfare reform. The meeting was mutually productive and useful and we hope to follow it up with a paper detailing some of the evidence gathered. Rory Stewart also indicated his willingness to meet with us again later in the year.
CAB meets John Stevenson
The Social Policy Group met with John Stevenson MP on Friday 21st June 2013 to provide information about how the welfare reform changes are impacting on his constituents. John Stevenson MP has agreed to meetings in future for updates.
